SOUTH SIDE OF SUSY'S GARDEN

The south side of a house should be sunny, but the neighbor's house and lots of large pine trees have made most of this area a shade garden. Right next to the garden shed is a sunny spot and this beautiful, soft and fuzzy Lamb's Ear (Stachys byzantina) took off. Here it is in bloom:
Lamb's Ear
Jack-in-the-Pulpit
Under the shade of the trees this triphyllum, Jack-in-the-Pulpit has formed a bloom. The bloom is actually a green spath that is later replaced by red berries.
Ecomagnafolia Huchera

If you are familiar with shade plants you have probably seen the common heuchera, Coral Bells or the beautiful purple variety, Place Purple. I have started collecting different varieties and the leaves of this Ecomagnafolia are outstanding.

Now if you haven't seen the Front Drive Garden, go there NEXT.
